Why this is harder than a normal membership list

A gym or a professional body just needs to know if a membership is paid up. Aviation associations need to track several things at once, all with their own expiry logic:

• Membership status — paid, lapsed, pending
• Currency and endorsements — which aren’t the same as membership, and don’t expire on the same schedule
• Ratings or qualifications tied to specific aircraft types or activities
• Insurance or indemnity status, where relevant, which sometimes depends on currency being valid in the first place

A generic membership plugin tracks one date. Aviation bodies need to track several, cross-referenced against each other — and know when any one of them is about to lapse, not just when it already has.
